Making and collecting payments

Available via Online for Business, Bulk Payments is a simple, convenient and secure way to make regular payments such as wages, expenses and supplier payments. The service is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses that wish to make up to 25 payments in one batch.

A paper-based direct debit collection service, useful for most businesses, particularly those that receive regular payments such as subscriptions or premiums. This service simplifies the collection of regular payments.

Offers a simple and speedy way to make and collect payments automatically. BACS Direct is suitable for any business that regularly receives or makes payments such as insurance premiums, subscriptions, salaries and wages, pensions, or interest payments.

Gives you greater control when making payments through Online for Business.
Choose between two new services:
Individual limits – this allows you to set a user’s payment limit for each transaction*.
OR 2 or 3 to authorise all payments - if your business or organisation require 2 or more to authorise all payments this services means you can now use Internet Banking.

International Payments

You can make international payments in a variety of ways. If you’re registered for Online for Business internet banking you can now make online payments in over 35 currencies to recipients at home and abroad, straight from your sterling business account.

Faster Payments

Faster payments were introduced in May 2008 and have transformed the UK banking payments system.

Same-day payments

CHAPS is an electronic, bank to bank payment system that guarantees same-day payment of cleared funds in the UK, providing the funds are released before 3pm.
